my first cutting

After a smear or two of Blue Gel on my arm John went back in with the scalpel, going in deeper and making the cut wider in certain places.  This seems to be the part of the story that people get the most squeamish about but honestly, that Blue Gel is like fuckin’ magic in a bottle and I didn’t feel a thing!  The whole cut, start to finish, was really no more painful than a tattoo.  That being said, I don’t know who all uses a numbing agent when they do cuttings, so I don’t know if that’s the usual standard or if I just got lucky. 

Also, I didn’t incorporate any skin removal into this piece and stuck just to cutting.  Mainly because it’s my first scarification so I want to see how my body scars first before trying removal, but also because that process just intimidates me a little more…but maybe next time.
