Photo 13 Aug I received my first cutting by John Joyce at Scarab Body Arts in Syracuse, NY on August 9th, 2011.  I chose to get a daffodil on the inside of my left forearm.  Basically, I’ve always loved daffodils and have wanted to have one on me but didn’t really want a big yellow flower tattoo.  And since I’ve always been fascinated by scarification and curious to try it, I figured the two would be a good fit.  As it turns out, organic shapes (like flowers) are good choices for scarification because if the lines don’t scar perfectly straight (as they seldom do) it won’t fuck up the piece.
